Hello, I am Doug Phillips. I like to shoot people. Let me clarify that...I like to take their picture!
I grew up on the beautiful Eastern Shore of Maryland, and currently still live here, in Ocean City. Sure, this area has its quirks (I have been to a crab pot throwing contest, a pumpkin chunkin' contest, and a muskrat skinning contest all within the last 6 months), but if offers some incredible scenery and hospitality.
In my adult life, my portfolio of careers has included being a cashier at a grocery store, a Graphic Designer, a Realtor, and a Director of Marketing, but one thing has never changed...my love of Photography. Since I was 16 years old, a camera has been by my side. Whether I'm snapping shots of the ruggedly beautiful Death Valley, or of an equally alluring newborn, the camera has always brought me comfort.
Naturally, this devotion has progressed into something bigger than I ever anticipated. I am not a Photographer that drags along a bunch of lights, props, and cheesy backgrounds. If you're looking for a stuffy family portrait in front of a fireplace, with all of your family wearing the same Billy Cosby-esque sweaters, I'm not your guy. Some may classify my style as "photojournalistic", full of real moments and emotion. Be prepared...I like to inject a little humor into my photos from time to time as well!
The purpose of this blog is to keep you updated on the latest happenings with me, and more importantly, to see my latest work. I hope you like what you see, and I encourage you to contact me with any comments and questions!
